Daily Devotional: Bearing Fruit

God makes many wonderful promises in Scripture. Have you ever claimed them?

John 15:5

“He that abide in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit”

Jesus makes a wonderful promise: if we abide in Him and He in us, then we will bring forth much fruit for the kingdom of God. Jesus does not say that we might bring forth fruit; He implies that we will bring forth fruit.

Are you tired of laboring for the Lord without seeing any fruit? Be comforted with this Scripture. We may not see the fruit in our lifetime, but be assured that your life will bring forth much fruit for Jesus. The only requirement is that you abide in Him and Jesus in you.

Jesus abides in you the moment you accept Him as Lord and Savior in that the Holy Ghost takes up residence inside of your spirit. To abide in Christ means that you seek not your own but instead seek the will of God. Instead of obeying your own desires, you ask God to direct your path and teach you to be completely obedience to His will. If you do this, God promises that your life will be fruitful for His kingdom.
