Daily Devotional: Peace With God

What is peace with God? Is it how you feel about God? Is it how God feels about you?
Isaiah 26:3

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

When Christ died for us, He made a way for God and man to be reunited; He made a way for us to live in harmony with our Creator. The peace of God is demonstrated in His forgiveness and grace. Why, then, are we troubled and worried?

The most important element of life is the condition of the soul. If Christ has saved your soul, why worry about anything else? Do you fear that He will change His mind and send you to hell? Do you fear that you are unworthy of the salvation He has put before you?

If we trust in Christ, He will perform His vows to us. He will not go back on His word. If we have trusted in Him, He will not suddenly decide that He despises us for our sins. No, as long as we confess our faults to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us. We can rest in peace with our God.

Peace with God means that we are no longer an enemy towards Him. The moment you confessed Jesus as your Savior, you changed from an enemy of God to His child. You became His special son or daughter. Peace with God has nothing to do with you; it is the fact that God has forgiven you of your sins and brought you into the fold. As long as you are trusting in Him, confiding in Him, and confessing your faults to Him, then you have peace with God.

  • Reflection: Do you allow the peace of God to comfort you? Leave a comment below to share what God is doing in your life.
