Daily Devotional: The Lord Is Incomparable

God's wisdom and excellence far exceeds our own. Let us build our faith in who He is and let go of our own opinions.
Isaiah 40:13

“Who hath directed the spirit of the Lord, or being his counselor hath taught him?”

Who is above the Lord? No matter what you need, Christ is able to satisfy that need. God is there, willing to help us, yet we strive against Him by telling Him what we need. We try to direct His blessings instead of letting Him direct us. Deep down in your heart, you know if you or God is really in charge of your life. I challenge you to let go and allow God to direct you.

God’s wisdom is far, far beyond our pathetic understanding of knowledge and truth. We are so limited compared to His perfect wisdom. We think we know what we need, but we don’t. We are so often misguided in our opinions and understanding. That is why we need to turn to God. He knows what is best for us. In fact, I dare to say that the only thing we really need is more of God.

Think about it. God alone fills us with joy. God alone knows everything about us, even when we do not understand ourselves. God alone can direct our steps towards things that are good for us. God alone can save us from our sins and teach us righteousness. God alone can love us with the love that overfills our hearts with joy and peace. God is so good to us.

Why fight against Him? Why resist His will for your life. Don’t give in to doubt., but believe in the mightiness of God. Believe in His amazing wisdom and power. Trust Him to guide you to things that are good for you, even if you don’t think it is what you need. Trust Him as the ruler of your life. Step aside, and let the Lord be who He is, the amazing, incomparable living God.
